Upper Level Ventilation System.
This system provides draft-free circulation of air with all windows closed, and permits removal of the door vent windows. Circular air outlets with rotatable valves are located at either end of the instrument panel and air flow is regulated by special control knobs positioned near the outlets. One way valves, located in the lock pillars of hardtop coupes, allow air to escape when the system is used with the windows closed.
The lower ventilation system, regulated by a control at each kick pad, is continued for 1968.

Upper Wide-oval Tires.
The Firebird sports-car styling theme is significantly enhanced by lower appearing, traction-conscious wide-oval tires. Mounted on 14-inch, safety rim wheels, the tires are utilized as follows: E:70 x 14 wide-oval blackwalls for Firebird; F:70 x 14 wide-oval blackwalls for Firebird Sprint, Firebird 350 and Firebird H.O.; F:70 x 14 wide-oval redlines for Firebird 400.

"Space-Saver Spare" Tire.
Mounted on its wheel in a deflated condition, this special 7.35 x 14 spare tire provides approximately 3 cubic feet of additional usable luggage space. A one-pound can of compressed gas, included with the tire, permits inflation at time of installation. After emergency use, the tire can be deflated, and it will collapse to its original "space-saving" configureation.

Dual Simulated Air Scoops-Firebird 400.
The special sports-styled hood of Firebird 400 features twin, raised air-scoop openings with simulated inlet. When the optional 400-cubic-inch Ram Air V-8 is specified, parts are furnished which permit conversion, so that outside air is introduced directly into the engine through open louvers in the air scoops.
A "400" emblem appears on the right and left hood scoop plateaus and on the rear deck lid at right.

Firebird Sprint Identification.
The "Over-head Cam 4.1 Litre" emblem on the right and left hood plateaus and an attractive "Sprint" emblem on the front of both rocker-panel moldings quickly identify the Firebird Sprint.

Firebird H.O. Identification.
Special body stripes with "H.O." lettering at front extend between the wheel housings of the Firebird H.O. and a "350" emblem is mounted on the hood plateaus at left and right.

Floor-mounted Shift-Firebird Sprint and Firebird 400.
The fully synchronized, 3-speed manual transmission with floor-mounted shift linkage is standard on the Firebird Sprint. Firebird 400 features the fully synchronized, heavy-duty, 3-speed manual transmission, with "Hurst-type" floor-mounted shift linkage.

Ventless Door Windows.
The new, upper-level ventilation system has permitted removal of the conventional door window vents in all Firebird models. With the elimination of these vents, the windows provide an attractive "picture-window" effect, while affording a continuous view.

Power-Flex Fan-Firebird 400.
This 19-inch fan has five, thin, flexible blades of stainless steel. As speed increases, pitch decreases, providing quiet performance with minimum horsepower, and as the engine speed decreases, the pitch increases yielding excellent idle cooling performance.
