From: "Daniel Ray" <danman@surfsouth.com> Date: Mon, 01 Jan 2001 07:58:15 -0500   John I saw one done like that a while back on the web somewhere but I have no idea where I saw it at now. It looked VERY good!!!! I have been wanting to do the very same thing with one of the spare flat hoods that I have myself but I can't find a set of the scoops like was on the early 70's formula cars to buy like 70 71 the ones that came up and forward to the front of the car if you find a set or a spare hood that I can get also let me know please Daniel Ray

I think it would look great. I really want locate one before I paint the '68. I = plan on painting both hoods at the same time. I'll let you know. I've called three or four yards up near atlanta -- the best I could find, the guy = wanted to sell the entire car -- it was the biggest rust bucket - about the only few good things on the car were the hood, the roof and the tail lights. I plan on going to all of the pontiac sites and asking but have not yet. In the mean time my eyes are peeled. I'll let you know. John. -----Original Message----- From: Daniel Ray <danman@surfsouth.com> To: First Generation Firebird-L <Firebird-L@oakmediacreations.com> Date: Monday, January 01, 2001 8:57 AM Subject: formula scoops, first gen!     >First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List >......................................................................... >John I saw one done like that a while back on the web somewhere but I >have no idea where I saw it at now. (back) Subject: Re: Vent flex hose From: "ROY D LUMSDEN" <rlumsden@tampabay.rr.com> Date: Mon, 1 Jan 2001 11:16:59 -0500   I found this type of hose at my local A/C install/repair shop. It's the perfect size and rubber coated. It's the kind of shop that specializes in repairing and installing custom big truck A/C systems. Their name and = local number is: Marks Air Inc. 813-988-1671 -- If you can't find it locally.   Roy ----- Original Message ----- > From: "R & P" <Ronsoy@bellsouth.net> > To: "First Generation Firebird-L" <Firebird-L@oakmediacreations.com> > Sent: Monday, January 01, 2001 1:16 AM > Subject: Re: Vent flex hose > > > > First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List > > > ........................................................................ > > I believe I have a 3 1/4 inch hose with my BIG shop vac If I do will > check > > tues. then I will be sure to give you a number on the vac. > > > > Ron > > ----- Original Message ----- > > > > > First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List > > > > ........................................................................ > > > I have my dash torn apart and need to replace the flex hose that = goes > from > > the cowl induction area scoop to the ball deflector valve in the dash > (68, > > no air cond.) (back) Subject: Re: formula scoops, first gen! From: <PStonebrak@aol.com> Date: Mon, 1 Jan 2001 12:26:09 EST   wouldn't that be a 69 TA hood
(back) Subject: Re: formula scoops, first gen! From: "John Wern" <jwern@gw.total-web.net> Date: Mon, 1 Jan 2001 17:23:14 -0500   Well , not really. On the Formula hoods from '70/'71 scoops were more raised and defined. the 69 hood had the scoops kinda raised but they were the length of the hood. If that makes any sense.   You can go here for pictures of just about all the pontiac muscle cars. Actually it's a very good page. Check this out...   http://www.pontiacpower.net/ppict.html   If you do you will be very happy... From: "R & P" <Ronsoy@bellsouth.net> Date: Mon, 1 Jan 2001 21:45:06 -0500   Paul I tried to send to your Email but I came back, with fatal errors.....   Heres a copy.   Paul it might be better if I make a template of the whole trunk, that way = it will be right when you put it on....you only get one shot you know!   Funny yesterday, I was pushing (yes pushing) my car back into the shop, = and I was looking at the holes wondering if my posting got to every one!   I have no problem dropping it in the mail!   When I make it (thurs, or Fri I will be sure to email you for your = address!   Thanks Ron
(back) Subject: RE: Intake swap! From: "Tim Marcinek" <marcts@ga.prestige.net> Date: Mon, 1 Jan 2001 21:45:06 -0500   yes it will fit the 4bbl intakes are the same. No it will be different as I'm pretty sure the 350 ho has a different cam than the stock 2bbl. It would be an improvement over a 2bbl in any case (I assume you will swap it to replace a 2bbl)   I have gone this route and gotten all I can out of the 350 with 4bbl, msd ignition, headers, etc. I am getting my 455 back from the machine shop = next week, and will begin assembly. I am looking forward to a huge power increase over the 350.   Tim
