Because that's what 455 heads will do on a 350, they have huge combustion chambers. A very bad idea. tim --

(back) Subject: Re: 350/455 From: <PStonebrak@aol.com> Date: Sat, 20 Jan 2001 09:54:30 EST Big mistake. Those 455 heads have probably 110-114 cc chambers. Your 350 would run better with 2 barrel heads from the 1960's. With 455 heads on a = 350 would be a 6 or 7-1 compression. Do you know how that will run? Barely if = at all. On the other hand if you picked up a 455 cheap, one in running shape. = Just re ringed it and replaced the bearings. Put your 76 350 heads on it = with just a slight bit of cam. It would probably be more than you would expect. = However if you really want to keep your 350 and expect it to run you'd = better have deep pockets. Pete
(back) Subject: Re: 350/455 From: <PStonebrak@aol.com> Date: Sat, 20 Jan 2001 10:01:46 EST If you got to the Classical Pontiac website they have a compression calculater. (back) Subject: front disk brakes.. From: "pete" <yaselskyp@webtv.net> Date: Sat, 20 Jan 2001 07:44:45 -0800 (PST) OK gang, I just picked up a complete sub-frame off of a 72 Nova. I do not need the disk set-up just the frame. You guys get first shot at it. It would consist of the Spindles with backing plate, Rotors, Calipers, rubber lines, rubber lines to hard line mounting hardware, combo valve(p valve) I do have but not going to mail the booster(should get new one of these) to save on shipping space Unless you really want to pay the shipping. and finially the master. The only thing not here would be the hard lines, which were cut by the yard to get everything out. If the rotors are within spec I can have them turned before sending out. Since I do run a shop if whoever wants this, I can buy new items at cost for the set-up. i.e. new pads, calipers, etc. just let me know and I can add it to the cost. Its on you.... Just trying to help out. Let me know, it would have to be soon...:)

If you mean the RV "setting" or the street/strip "setting"......I installed the street/strip one. The only difference is what holes you drill out and where you place the little ball bearing like thingies. I did this whole procedure after school and drove it to school the next day. I did stay up until about ten though. I am slow and always have to make unexpected trips to the auto parts store though. I thought it was fairly painless and I love the results. The only problem I had was getting the tranny pan gasket to make a leak free seal. If a 17 yr old can do it.....I am sure you can. The directions are all you need to follow. They are very good. Just read them a couple times to make sure you are doing everything right. good luck. I almost forgot.........The shift is nice and hard when you are really on the gas(it chirps the tires) but if you are taking it easy, which I hate to do, it is fairly smooth.
