(back) Subject: Re: Dash trim plate / Radio From: "Dennis Rolston" <hotroddr@juno.com> Date: Mon, 22 Jan 2001 16:09:14 -0800   I cant help you w/the trim plate question but I did install my radio underneath the dash. There are two places I know of to get the black plastic under the dash installation kit thing. You can either go behind Circuit City where they install all the car audio stuff and ask if you can buy the installation box, or you can go to a Frys electronics and go to the car audio section. I got mine at Circuit city. The way I installed mine was right under the ash tray pushed as far forward(toward the firewall) as I could get it. I have an AC 68 and I removed the ducts that would normally interfere w/this setup. My AC is removed anyway, but now none of my vents work. It doesnt help that the fan stopped working also. If I can I will get a picture and you can see if you like the look/idea. It will be a while since I dont have a digital camera though. If you were really creative you could probably think of a better place to install this box thing or a better way to retain use of your heater/vent controls. The box, as I call it, is black plastic, slightly bigger than the head unit itself, and can be screwed into the bottom of the dash. I am awful at describing things so please excuse me. This probably wasnt too helpful, but oh well. Dennis Rolston ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO!
