I beleive it is supposed =   to light with the key on, engine off, as are the oil and brake warning lamps. If somone installed a guage, they may have removed the sender for the lamp, and used a guage sender instead. That would be the quick an = dirty way. Still doesn't work? reach under the dash till you feel the back of the guages cluster,(3 inches up from the more inboard instrument panel screw = on the fuel guage side) till you feel some round dealies the size of a dime, with a small handle on the back, so you can turn 1/4 turn = counterclockwise, and remove the bulb(the bore irregularly shaped ones hold turn signal bulbs). Bulb# is 194. It might take 10 minutes to change if you stop to =   drink a beer. I also have a 69 base with a loose =   cover, but my '68 has a cut wire, and no hole in the headliner...yet. I think classic has the covers for six bucks or so. Some of the = early Holden stuff was great. Nice burnouts til I blew the diff and even better =   after with a single spinner. It's good to hear that there's plenty of female interest in our birds. It's just sad that they're not that easy = to come by down our way. Or maybe that's a good thing seeing as every = morning I drive to work I see at least one 'stang coupe. All the best from = another entry level 'Bird Owner....Dale '68 Conv.
