The difference between them is for VRS (variable ratio steering) = vs no VRS. Mine has had a straight pitman arm, original engine (never been = out of the car), and original exhaust manifold.   Jim   Jim, Straight arm was 6 cyl only or a Camaro piece. No exceptions. Gary

From: "Rodger Fromm" <rwfromm@nf.sympatico.ca> Date: Sat, 31 Mar 2001 11:47:12 -0330   Hmm...I do not know, i seen a Ferrari on ebay go for like $310,000. Mind you it was brand new, but surprised the hell out of me what can get sold = on ebay.   Rodger 68 350   -----Original Message----- From: Firebird-L@oakmediacreations.com [mailto:Firebird-L@oakmediacreations.com]On Behalf Of marcts Sent: Friday, March 30, 2001 3:19 PM To: First Generation Firebird-L Subject: Re: '69 TA Convert ebay auction....     First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List .......................................................................... You are wrong because they reset the speedometer when they did the restoration.   I can't imagine that anyone would buy a car for 125000 on ebay, kind of ridiculous to me but who knows? I bet a dollar it is not sold.
(back) Subject: RE: rear main seal question From: "Slobird" <marcts@ga.prestige.net> Date: Sat, 31 Mar 2001 10:38:05 -0500   I put the HO seal on my 455. It works no leaks. BOP engineering has a new seal for the small journal motors. I would recommend trying it. I heard the caddy seal will not work if not used properly.   Tim
(back) Subject: RE: COMPRESSION VS FLOW From: "Slobird" <marcts@ga.prestige.net> Date: Sat, 31 Mar 2001 10:42:06 -0500     I have 4x heads milled .050 and zero deck on my 462 and compression is around 9.3:1. I would not go higher than this. Although I am not a = tuning expert, if the motor gets around 220 deg and you go up a hill at part throttle, it will ping slightly. THis is with 12 initial and 36 total timing.   I would get a set of 6x heads. They are cheap and have large valves and will put you in the 9 range. I have a set of 46's as well. I think they will work, but talked to a guy who was running a set on a 455 and he told = me it will ping on 93.   Tim
(back) Subject: Re: rear main seal question From: "larry diede" <ldiede@bangkok.com> Date: Sat, 31 Mar 2001 10:44:08 -0700   The Caddy seal will only work on the large diameter journals of the 455. = I know this first hand, as I purchased the Caddy seal and tried to install = it in my 350. It is too large.   The small 350 and 400 engines use a 2 piece seal from a Ford 460 engine I = am told. You will need to verify this yourself. After finding out I = could not use the Caddy seal, I used the rope seal and installed it as per = instructions from Jim Hand.         ----------------------------------------------- Thailand's BEST Free Email at Bangkok.com - http://mail.bangkok.com
