I'm not sure what your plan with the spring is, but Herb Adams suggests = that by moving the front springeye up about 1/2 inch, anti squat is increased, reducing power overstee, allowing more throttle in corners. THey sell a spring eye bracket theat does this for second gen cars, but you could = likely leave room for adjustment on your setup. Just a thought. (back) Subject: Re: Safety mandated items From: "Andy" <fbird68@ix.netcom.com> Date: Mon, 16 Apr 2001 23:26:46 -0700   Paul,   The 1968 Annual states that front-seat shoulder harnesses were required starting January 1, 1968. Lap belts were required for all seats. My '68 had front shoulder harnesses, but they proved to be so impractical that I did not put them back up when I replaced the headliner years ago. Is it possible the '68s you've seen were manufactured before January 1? Mine was made in February.   Andy     > > Subject: safty mandated items > From: <Pzary3233@aol.com> > Date: Sun, 15 Apr 2001 13:51:49 EDT > > Andy > So with the information that was just provided it says that Shoulder = belts > > where mandated in to existence on the 68 cars? (back) Subject: Single to multileaf conversion. From: "Bad Acid" <bad-acid@pacbell.net> Date: Mon, 16 Apr 2001 23:38:50 -0700   I just bought a single to multileaf conversion kit from Classic Industries for my 67. The shock mounting plates that it came with will cause the = shocks to be offset. Is this going to be a problem? I know that the shocks where not offset originally on the 67, And I am wondering If this is going to cause problems. Are the upper shock mounts in the same place on a 67 as on = a 68?   Lance 67 400 coupe

Here's the address:   http://www.locl.net/homes/sapple/68smi.html   If you're looking for another year, you may want to try Greg's Automotive = at www.gregsonline.com. I ordered a 68 Pontiac shop manual for $36 and the quality was excellent. They also shipped it very promptly. I also think their prices are generally lower than what you find on ebay. I hope this helps.   Steve '68 Sprint 4-spd
