Back in the day... ('80s) I was pulling approx. (20) of them per week from the S. Calif. Wrecking-Yards (Pick-A-Part) at $3 - $5 a piece w/wiring,switch. I sold well over a hundred of them to Dennis Kirban (an East Coast Pontiac Dealer back then). Amazing what people ask for these things today. I'll poke around and see if I can dig one up out at the 'Barn'. Considering the years and applications covered by this part, it should be relatively easy to find one if you have access to junk yards.   John FRamair@aol.com Semper Fi Ephesians 4:32
(back) Subject: Re: A/C and Heater Hose From: "Roy Lumsden" <rlumsden@tampabay.rr.com> Date: Sun, 20 May 2001 13:06:29 -0700   Ed,   I believe the correct color is natural aluminum. Like alumi-blast.   The heat hose, well, I have a picture of my engine compartment.   http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=3D446733&a=3D3289278&p=3D18765615&Seq= uence=3D0 &res=3Dhigh   http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=3D446733&a=3D3289278&p=3D18765618&Seq= uence=3D0 &res=3Dhigh   I have a better picture if you need it. Best I can remember, the heater = hose was routed high on the fender well. The hose coming from the firewall to = the vacuum valve was pre-formed. I know because the original one was still on the car (but bypassed). I found one that was real close at Discount Auto Parts (local chain in the south-east) and the part number is 80403. Basically, its a 1/2 id hose with a pre-formed 90-degree end. I just cut = off what I didn't need.   Hope this helps, Roy L. -----Original Message----- From: Ed Pittman <e_pittman@juno.com> To: Firebird-L@oakmediacreations.com <Firebird-L@oakmediacreations.com> Date: Sunday, May 20, 2001 5:58 AM Subject: A/C and Heater Hose     >First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List >......................................................................... >Greetings List, >I sent this a few days ago and did not get a response and thought I would >give it another shot. > > >I have a couple of quick questions for the list members. >1. (back) Subject: 69 4 bbl throttle bracket From: <Metthem@aol.com> Date: Sun, 20 May 2001 18:10:33 EDT   I finally, actually have my hands in my bird and ready to find a throttle cable and transmission kickdown bracket for the 4 bbl. Framair gave me = great advise which somehow escaped my computer. I know the part #9797415 I am looking for is stamped F4, what other Pontiacs can I find with this = besides a 69 Firebird. If I use this bracket will I need to change my throttle = cable? I am converting from the 2 bbl to an edelbrock 4 bbl. This is gonna be = ready Monday, except this last part, any quick help would be appreciated; can't wait to start this puppy up. Well, gotta get back outside and slide the cam in : )> Thanx, Gary
(back) Subject: Re: 69 4 bbl throttle bracket From: "x1r1 x" <x1r1@hotmail.com> Date: Sun, 20 May 2001 21:48:57 -0700     I was quite surprised the throttle cable from my '85 TPI hooked right up = to my '68 pedal, and clips to the firewall as well. I bet interchange is possible for a bunch of carb cars, maybe TBI to. The TPI cable is extra long. Yay GM! Rowan Oh I used a random 4bbl Q-jet bracket from a '78 ish car in the wreckers, enlarged one of teh bolt holes a hair, and it worked great with my Edelbrock.   >From: Metthem@aol.com -L Mailing List >......................................................................... >I finally, actually have my hands in my bird and ready to find a throttle >cable and transmission kickdown bracket for the 4 bbl. (back) Subject: 68 water pump plate ? From: "Charles Hazelton" <chuckhazelton@telocity.com> Date: Sun, 20 May 2001 22:17:37 -0700   Anyone who has replaced the plate behind the waterpump on a 68 350, where did you find a new plate? We're still having water circulation problems (I posted earlier about the upper rad hose collapsing and the car = overheating) so I'm thinking the plate is bad. There were several holes rusted through = it but I patched it up with JB Weld & thought it would hold. Guess not. Would like to have a new plate on hand before yanking the pump off. As always, I really appreciate the help Chuck Hazelton 68 350 conv
