Hopefully some one can help me. I am looking for an aftermarket radio that fits in factory dash hole where i don't have to cut the opening. I am replacing dash carrier and don't want to cut the new one but don't want to spend a fortune for factory radio. I see alot of companies that offer for 67,68 and 70 but can't find one for 69.Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Brand new dash carrier also that I don't want to look buggered up. The folks at Antique Automobile Radio Inc are working on this issue for me as we speak. We thought we had a fit but the backing plate was incorrect. I was hoping to hear something from them today on the remodel. Try contacting Jenn at support@radiosforoldcars.com and tell her Jim Z sent you. Just be prepared for sticker shock as the price is not cheap.

Thanks for the reply. They were one of the companies I looked into earlier. Sticker shock I have a feeling is going to be more than the dash,lol.

i have a set of the long push buttons that will fit many easly gm radios.this will enable you to convert a gto,lemans,tempest radio in to a 69 firebird radio .... If thats all it takes,, why does'nt somebody repop just the long buttons, and we could use the other radios,?????????... {Duh}

I've checked under every rock and as far as I know there is no other year or model that will fit and no "after market" units are available.....grab a AM or AM/FM original and fill the hole

i just recently purchased a dash carrier for my 69-bird and did`nt want to cut the dash up either.i found that Ken Harrison now makes one that will fit without any mods to the dash(purchased it through NPD, i bought it it fits perfect.Allen) p.s.it has a front aux for ipod,portable cd player,etc. the cost was 284.95 40 watts per channel.

Not to be a bad guy, but doesn't this go under "parts wanted"??? I am guilty of the same mistake but we all need to have better 'thread discipline'! LOL!
