Larry,

Which year car? I have a couple '67s and at least one '68, and a TON of '69-up.

Nothing came with the block. I do have the running 350 in the car that I guess I could cannibalize. I would rather keep that engine whole though.

If "starting from scratch", the later cover/pump ('69-up) arrangement is considered the better one. Pulleys can be a real bag of worms. If you can find a "donor" car with all the brackets, pulleys, etc., you would be "ahead of the game".

If you're looking for "correct", the '68 cover is a "1-year only" part and pulleys are even more difficult to find. The '67 uses the smaller 2-piece balancer and the '69-up uses the different water pump.

FWIW

I'm with Mr. P. Honestly, almost no one will want your 350 complete. You're better off stripping all the external goodies from it and using them on your 428. Pulleys. timing cover, WP ... the works. Put the 350 under a cover in your shed. I have a neat method for storing blocks that includes about 20 bucks worth of McMaster-Carr hardware ...

When it comes time to install the water pump and its divider plates on your 428, please ask for advice.

I think that is the way I am going to go. I am going to keep the 350 but will use the front end off the 350. Thanks for the advice guys. Just got back from seeing my son in Chicago and we talked about this solution and agreed that is is the easiest way to solve the problem. Was nice to see my Navy guy and sit and talk cars with my garage partner! We went to an auto museum in a town called Volo, IL. Saw a lot of really nice muscle car but not one fgf.
