First Generation Firebird

Hi guys, tach is not working and did before paint and the prior wiring was a total hack job. I restored the car and put all new wiring front to back using Autowire harness's and the HEI engine harness ( the car had HEI when I bought it) 1967 Firebird, hood tach looks like it could be aftermarket but not sure, here's how I have it now and I think I'm missing something.
Tach has 3 wires going into the plug and is a one light bulb tach, one wire I have to ground, one wire to the fuse block headlight switch and the 3rd wire to the TACH terminal on the distributor, tach is getting power, lights come on and to be sure I hooked up a double ground. The harness for HEI omits the tan resister wire and has a solid large pink wire which goes to the BATT side of the tach, am I missing a wire that I need to splice into? Is it wired correct and maybe the tach took a dump? Any help would be great, Thanks
