I'm newly registered on this site. I have a real appreciation Firebirds! My friend had a H.O. 4-speed back in high school. I remember those days fondly.
Any help on finding one of these rare birds would be much appreciated.

I was actually born in the latter (parent's apartment was 1 block off of Sunset Blvd) and raised next door to the former after my parents bought their house (My mom still lives in it). Toured the old Van Nuys plant several times as a kid and cruised Van Nuys Blvd in high school. I purchased my current '67 'Bird in Hollywood during a visit. The PO was in the music industry.

Your title says you're looking for a RAIV Firebird. I believe there were a total of 105 auto and manual RA IV's produced that year making these more rare than Trans Am Ram Air cars. I believe only 85 coupes and 20 vert RAIV Firebirds were produced in 69 making the RAIV Firebird a true unicorn only in comparison to a Trans Am vert as far as pricing and rarity.
Last Firebird RAIV I saw on auction sold for well into the 160s.

He did say he was looking for a needle.

Maybe I'll be lucky enough to have one find its way to me. Hopefully for a lot less then 160K. I'm not a wealthy collector. Just a guy who wishes he pursued one years ago. My son and I would like to enjoy it together. I know it's a long shot. But you never know.
Check with TellyShavilli on Ames performance boards. He seems to have his finger on the RAIV pulse in the states.
I'd be interested in reading what he says if you do ask him...or the Ames Performance board in general. Some of tose guys are the unicorn finders...and have the cash and are serious about Ram Air.
I'd also try Doug Legacie in Wyoming or Greg Conaway in eastern PA. I'm sure a Google search will yield something. I have Gregs number somewhere. He has a RAII vert and other goodies. Doug bought my RAII about 10 years ago.
You could also try Mike Noun...in the off chance. His email is mnoun at yahoo

Thank you!
On the first day of my post. I did receive a text that evening. It was from a very knowledgeable Ram Air IV Firebird owner and follower. For now I'm hopeful he can put something together for me. I guess if it's meant to be it will happen.
