Hello everyone. This is my first post as I just picked up a 68 a few days ago(68 was my first car ever!). The floor pans have rusted out sections along with the window to deck lid panel, and trunk pan of course...typical rusted sections. My question is, whats your opinions on panel replacement suppliers? Reason I ask is I ordered a fender many years ago from Ausley Chevelle parts for my 71 malibu, and it was literally half an inch longer than the original! Made hood alignment a total nightmare. I sold the old velle and now have an Fbody project
Depends on DIY or having floor pans installed. Floor panels can be trimmed...fenders, not.
Most body parts sold by catalog shops are through Shermans here in Michigan. From my experience and feedback, a VERY high percentage of larger body panel replacement parts on the west coast are Chinese steel.
Back in the day, Shermans had their own dies and stamped themselves. Unsure if this is still true.

I bought a full vert quarter from the parts place (they are local to me) as to save the c-note on shipping and with the first test fit, I was pleasantly surprised how good the fit was.
I bought a 69 tail panel from Ames and got the better version with the PONTIAC holes pre-punched. FIt was excellent on this piece also.
I'm not sure any panels are made in the US anymore
