ok, purchased new carb kit, set float still on start up after sitting a few days will spew few out the top. Bang on carb it stops and works normal. Seems like sticking float. It has the black float, Should i try and locate metal one. Needle and seat are new and did not seem to bind. I did set float lower so it shuts off at lower level when bowl fills, I mean I bent it so the needle shuts off at lower level. It's a 2bbl 7029062... Any other Ideas or where to buy a metal float...I used to be good at this ...

Well if it quits leaking when you bang on the carb I would think it's the needle sticking open as well. I can't see how banging on the carb would get a fuel logged float to float. Maybe the float is OK but the needle not seating for another reason?
I know when you install the float on the 4bbl they say not to clip the needle onto the float hanger. Not sure exactly why. Not sure it has anything to do with your prob either. Just one of those details.
Once I had a carb that I just could not tune correctly, I put the float in a jar of gasoline and it seemed to float fine. I then put a weight on the float to sink it below the surface of the fuel, the next day the float was fuel logged.
