I just changed my intake from a torker 2 square bore to a performer and I'm switching to a Qjet... I don't get it.. the edelbrock carb was pretty straight forward.. there is a rod coming up from behind the motor it hooked right in to the linkage.. the Qjet linkage seems to face down... what am I not doing right??
You'll like the performer intake more as well and funny as it sounds, you'll most likely have more low end torque with the performer than you had with the torker.

I hope so!! lol... I took out my 350 and put in a new 455....
Don't know about a clone but it is considered a replacement for stock. Performs about the same and in the same rpm range, saves a bunch of weight over a cast iron unit. The performer RPM flows a lot more but it's operating range is slightly higher.
does anyone know how long the throttle rod should be? mine is about 12 inches.. I see there is a different rod for a 67 with a 2 barrel and a 4 barrel... I'm wondering if the 4 barrel is a little longer....
I ordered a rod.. it says its adjustable from 11-15 inches... that should work.... next up.... it there a specific air cleaner for a Qjet?? theres piece that sticks up in the front that the old air cleaner will hit.... it looks like a silo?... what does that even do??
That's the bowl vent, and yes it will hit the factory air cleaner for that year. That looks like an early to mid 70's Qjet.
uhhg,,,,,, this Qjet swap was a handful..... I have an aftermarket air cleaner... thoughts on fixing this issue?? anyone??
Yep, that's why I mentioned in my post, it looks like an early 70's carb...
If you want to stick with the factory look, find a 2nd gen or other GM air cleaner. Is there a part number on the carb so you can trace it back to the exact year?
