can somebody tell me what the value of a good running 350cui engine is? It has the orginal WC-coded 1968 Firebird block, with the original "17" head casting numbers. It was a original 1968 Firebird swap engine.
What is the value of a original good running 400cui as a comparison? Also original 1968 Firebird engine.
Could somebody give me a professional answer? Would help me alot.
Depending on how many miles there are, if it has already been bored once (or twice), I'd say $500-$700 US.
A similar original 400 would be double or triple that.
A 400 is generally cheaper to rebuild than a 350 as well.
If all the original accessories are included, the prices would be higher accordingly.

Would the value of the whole car be higher with a original 400cui than a swapped orginal 350cui? If yes how much would be difference for the whole car today?
An original car with the original engine will always be worth the most.
If the original engine is long gone, (regardless of size), then a rebuilt original 400 would be the most desirable.
Whole car prices are tough to say because options and condition of car are likely just as important if not more important.
Maybe 5% to 10% more for the 400. All seat of the pants guesses.
