I'm thinking of going a different route and curious what it's worth. I have a 1969 firebird hardtop. It's tore down right now as I started the restoration last fall. It's a numbers matching car. It runs and drives when put back together. I put new rear frame rails, drivers side rocker panel in already. The rear end as been done as well as all new brakes and cylinders for the rear brakes. Ive got a new complete trunk pan, rear inner wheel tubs for both sides that would come with it. It will need a new complete floor pan and so on as a typical restoration goes. It would be a sharp car when done. Guy prior to me was in the process of making it look like a 69 trans am. I'm thinking like $6000.00. Curious on opinions. Thanks.
Need lots more information such as original options(400 or not, mqnual or auto, original color/trim). All of which is less important than the fact that it is apart right now.
By your description, even at 3-4k, I think you will struggle to find a buyer wanting to take on a project. There was a thread in the '68 section for a car in the Dayton area. It was much further along if I recall coŕrectly. And he was down to 4k in price.

That's what I was wondering. It has a 350, automatic three speed on the floor. It a gold color right now with gold interior. But the original paint color is champagne and interior trim is the gold. I'm going to put it back together before I list it. It's not that far tore down. Just need to put one fender, hood, door and trunk lid back on.

Difficult to restore that car given the final value for a coupe with a 350 Auto. Have to expect your going to eat a lot of $$$ on the front end that won't come back to you on the back end of the project. Gotta do it for love...

Yes you do. There's not a lot of return in an average car restore if you do it right. This is my third restro. I've done a 1965 olds dynamic 88 convertible and a 1968 mustang GT Convertable. I just happen to really like this 69 firebird. But debating on unloading it. I'll prolly just end up keeping it and finishing it out for a play car if I don't find a buyer without loosing my [censored] to bad. Couple body shop guys I know have always said you have to do it for the love , because it's cheaper to buy one already done and there's a lot truth in that.
