We wanted to share an overview and history we just posted about the OHC Sprint 6. This is part one of a three part series, the first post focuses on the history, while the next two will focus on the owners and their rare Firebirds.
Thank you's go out to several of you "Cammers" from this forum that helped with the details and pictures of your cars!
Very nice articles. I don't think the Pontiac OHC 6 was the "the first engine in the world to use a toothed, fiberglass-reinforced timing belt to drive the camshaft" as stated in part 1 though. Glas 1004, introduced in 1962, is normally said to be the first production car with a timing belt: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glas_1004

I'm eagerly waiting for part 3 of the articles.
First "American" made passenger vehicle to be mass produced.
I just found my 68 firebird sprint in a garage covered with sheets, original interior and I'm loving driving the little OHC 6 real blast with the 4 barell
