I'm hoping to here our solutions to some rust issues and the best way to correct. As the title says, non-body panel rust.
I'll post some pics of what I found. I have issues with the floor boards, the pass side seems to be just surface, the drivers side has areas that are rusted through . Drivers side is easy, part of the floor needs to be replaced(not a question)
My question is, what to do with the pass side floor rust. It seems to be solid, but the floor has rust that seems alittle more then surface rust, guess I'll call it "deep surface rust". I hope that is a description that makes sense. so , I'm thinking if I use a wire brush to get to bare metal and paint would be good, or is there something else I should do to it? some kind of rust remover?

With the time you will spend working on the rust on the passenger side you can replace the floor section and have new rust free metal. after sanding and wire brushing the rust you will end up with a paper thin floor that will eventually have holes in it anyway.
Wire brush and paint won't stop it. Wire brush, some good rust converter( both top and bottom), some epoxy primer and then paint. You probably would be ok. If you wanted to strengthen the weakened area Por 15 makes a pretty good product for that as long as it's not going to get brake fluid on it. You definitely have to patch the one side.
When I did the passenger side floor on my 69 I ran into a problem with the goodmark panel. It was missing a hump in the corner that was on the original . I ended up having to buy the kick board and then I had to piece it together with the floor panel.
