My power steering high pressure hose is leaking at the steering box. I bought a new hose and it is still leaking. I tightened it good but it leaks at the nut and the steel line above the nut. There wasn't any gaskets in the steering box or with the new hose. I have had it apart 10 times, and 2 new hoses. What am I missing?
Check the threads on the steering box and clean out the threads. Might be an obstruction. Use a line wrench. Try white Teflon tape as a last resort. The threads should seal on their own. Need hi torque to ensure good seal.

Well if its a flare type line fitting the putting Teflon tape on the nut threads will not help much, the nut is to press the flare on the line against the mating area on the steering box, same design as a brake line. Perhaps there is something wrong with the mating area on your steering box.
What happens sometimes is the brass cone inside the box gets scored from being over tightened and even a new hose with a new flare will leak. The brass cone in the box can be replaced. I've never done one myself but supposedly it's not that difficult. You could always try the hulk method and tighten it till you can't anymore and see if it stops. A rebuilt box is about $150 so if it gets screwed up that's as much as it'll cost you.
Agree with the earlier post - most likely the sealing surface is damaged. Before assembly everything must be clean to get the best seal. I would pull the hose and inspect both the hose fitting and the flare. Hopefully neither is scratched.
