Anyone have any idea why my interior lights stay on after the doors are closed? This has only happened a couple of times, but makes me nervous about just jumping out of the car without thoroughly checking the dome light. No, it isn't that the dimmer switch is all the way on.
Normally it is caused by one of the under dash lights that inadvertently gets grounded (independent of the door switches). Once one of them grounds, they all light. I would jiggle those around and see what happens. Watch out, the bulbs get pretty hot.
I had the same problem with the courtesy lights would stay on very dimly all the time and kill the battery. I turned on my headlights then they would go out. A new headlight switch hopefully will fix mine.
I pray it isn't a headlight switch! Just got the dash back on and I don't know if I can take trying to get that headlight shaft off again. I didn't know my arm would bend that way :-D Thanks for the tips guys!......
I had the exact same problem. My lights would sometimes stay on when I closed the doors. One of the under dash courtesy light sockets had popped out slightly from it's holder and would touch ground making the lights stay on.
