OK my car has issues!! Can someone please post some picture's of the power steering pump and bracket's that are correct for my 68 ohc 6?? My brackets work but there incorrect. I saw this image searching the web but I dont know if this is correct or what else is missing?? http://www.jeep-cj.com/forums/attachment...hc_6_4v_mtr.jpg
Here is a picture of the bracket's that I currently have. As you can see it looks like a air condition unit bolts to the rest of the bracket. I dont even know if the power steering pump is correct??
Thanks Hokie1984, Sprint OHC6 for the quick replies and pictures now I can search for the correct brackets.
Anybody have spare brackets laying around??
My car is originally from Lordstown Ohio.
PS Hokie1984 is your power steering bracket on the front of the pump separate from the pump or actually made on the pump unit itself?? Also could you please tell me how many brackets you have total for your unit?? Thanks Johnny.
If you haven't bookmarked it already, you really need to keep this site handy. It has all the tech manuals and parts lists for our cars including the one Marc showed you.
Thanks OHCMarc this really helps out a great deal even shows the bolts and washers and I dont think that I ever came across this website I will save this and use this for sure since it looks like I have to redo almost all of the brackets. Thanks Johnny.

No problem! Make sure to come back and post some pictures of your Bird and what you are working on.
Just getting back to give thanks to you guys for taking out your time for replying and posting the pictures and diagrams so I could fix my OHC power steering brackets. I was able to get the correct brackets and the installation was simple due to the pictures and diagrams. I know its just a bracket but it was important to me to have it correct. Here are a couple of pic's to show you that I followed through and that your efforts are appreciated and that even the small things are actually huge sometimes to others especially since now my engine runs smoother than before.
Not to be critical but something doesn't look right on your belt arrangement. If you search Vikki's website it will show the correct belt arrangement along with the necessary sizes. Other than that, looking good. How do I know, mine were also messed up when I got the car.
Hi Hokie1984 you probably are correct because someone mickey moused the power steering and alternator brackets on my car. When I got the car it had the single groove water pump pulley and I put a double g pulley on to line up the belts better but it still wasn't correct. The double pulley that I have is not the same diameter and has to be off one of my ford or chevy projects from long ago. I'm not sure if diameter size would effect the cooling? so I put the single g pulley back on. I did notice on your car from the pictures you posted that the belts were installed differently than mine. Lucky devil you have air conditioning!! I never heard of it but I will check out the vikki's website.
If I'm not mistaken, the stock configuration is a single belt groove on your power steering unit. Is that a '68 OHC Sprint? I think the power steering units on the 6's are notoriously leaky.
Also, from memory I am recalling that they made only 200 1968 OHC6 Sprint convertibles. Is that a floor shift? That is one super RARE Firebird you have there.
Wow, the front bumper looks good darkened. Is that black chrome?
