I took the Firebird out for a short ride around the neighborhood to identify any bugs and I decided to do a little photo shoot. It was such a nice day today. I had to have a little fun.
I just tried it out in our neighbor hood. I don't have the interior in yet. LOL. I was setting on a box.
I got the speed up to about 25-30 mph and I made it through 1st and 2nd gears. Motor and transmission run nice and smooth. Easy startup and idles great.
Found a couple more bugs. I had took my radiator to the local shop to have cleaned and checked before putting back on but today I found a hairline crack on the upper hose neck.
My horn was working and now it is not. Have not looked into the issue yet.
Wow, Harold! x2 on the first pic. I would have that one blown up and put it on the wall. Just got mine out and down a few blocks to get gas today. First time with the new motor. It's only been two months but I felt like a kid with a new toy. Had a cop go round the block and try to come up behind me as I was leaving. He's going to have to get better game if he's going to catch me doing something.
Cant wait for summer... 68HO4004spvert Sleddog Iowa

Thanks everyone. It was a great day and being this was the first time I every got to driver the car it was a great feeling. If anyone remembers, I set my odometer to turnover as I took my first test drive and it turned over just as I planned and now have a couple miles on the new build.
My wife got a picture of me as I came up the drive way and of course she had to get me on my box.
Thanks. It's Aegean Blue which is the original color.
Today was another great day. I took the wife around the block. She seemed to enjoy it. I took a few more photos today. 400HO-8021 by Silver - Bullet, on Flickr

LOL. I threw a folded up cover in for her to sit on. She was ready to go. Shock me when I asked and she said yes. She was just sitting on the floor by the time we got back. She seemed happy with it.
