I have another thread looking for parts to convert my automatic back to the original Muncie 4sp for my 68 H.O. convertible. I am thinking of using aftermarket parts and wanted to know if there were ones to avoid when it comes to the bell housing clutch. Linkage parts and clutch assembly also shifter that I may want to avoid

The shifter mount to the transmission, I have seen one that looks like a metal spacer and i have seen one that looks like an L bracket with u bolts on it

The L bracket with ubolts is what Hurst uses for their 68 installation kit. If you want it to look OEM then use the metal mount that can be found OEM or repop. I use the OEM style mount. Looks much better. Below are links to the OEM styles. These work fine on the 68.
Slowly moving along. I am installing the linkage, the kit that I got has two felt bushings not sure where those go as the manual does not show these. Also the clutch pedal has two holes in it, Which one top or bottum does the linkage attach

For anyone with future issue the answer is the top hole. 50/50 i picked wrong one, the bottum first, this hole makes to much swing and causes the adjuster bolt to pop out of the throwout rods bowl. Reset with the top hole and functions great, that little bit less throw in the clutch arc makes a big difference
