Pulled the shifter out of the 67 today. Doesn’t look orig to me but I’m new to 67. I’ve always thought that if the handle was a bolt on and shifter had the limiting bolts that it must be an aftermarket.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. 67’s did not have Hurst shifters. Inland tool shifter that bolted to the transmission cross member. They were supposedly crap and few survived. Mine is long gone.
thats the shifter you want to use that is a 67 68 69 hurst over the counter replacement for the firebird and camaro... that a good thing ... it is missing 1 of the shift stop bolt and nut ,,, the chrome handle is the cheapest part to replace ,,,, and they make nice reproductions.. correct adjustment and the correct mounting bracket are 95% of a nice working shifter ...
It doesn't look much like the Comp Plus shifter in my 69. The handle on it is held I with wedges( I think, no bolts) and there aren't any limiting bolts. Looks more factory than the one in the pic.
