Do you think the marker needs to be re-jigged to cover the exposed slot? It seems they are twisted into the marker light hole - based on the 2nd picture.
I believe these are the clips you mentioned - see pic below.
Ok I found pics of a marker - it seems you need to make sure those ribs go into the slots and the clip (previous post pic) goes into the slot. I assume those draw them in tight?
If anyone has a pic of how they should look - once fastened - would be greatly appreciated!
It does look like the body guy put them in wrong. Notice on the light that two of the ribs are shorter, those are the ones that the spring clip slide under. The other (longer) one slides into the notch in the fender. Also remember the high (curved) side of the clip faces away from the light to provide the tension. Let’s see a pic of the car! My 69 is white also! Ron
Well not knowing that they require spring clips to hold them in besides, it looks like they did a fantastic job lining up the nose with the fenders. Not an easy task.
Thank you Firebob! Yes they do great work but they are more familiar with 1st-Gen Camaro’s vs. Firebirds albeit they are growing to love this ole ‘Bird! They will get it, I am trying to help out where/when I can.
Apologies Ron, car was/is Palladium Silver (not white) I re-read your last note and realized your color indication. Love the white ones too - especially those Trans-Ams ;^)
My 69 was originally that color combo. P silver w/blk vinal top. Had a set of old school SS Cragars on it with some 50 TAs. Really looked good I thought. Got tired of replacing the top when rust started underneath. Then decided she needed more flash so I went Arrest Me Red. I like it too. Not sorry I ditched the top. PITA.
