I have a set of JC ralleys that came with the car. I have a set of 68-9 front disc that I figured I'd install but I'm not sure if the JC 14/6 ralleys will clear the calipers. Anybody happen to know for sure?
Ah. I thought only the 7s were the 4 piston caliper and the 8s went to single piston. I was thinking because they were 6" rims that maybe they didn't have as much back spacing and hoping they might clear the calipers. Since I have everything in the garage I might mock things up and see if they can easily be adjusted. If not it's not worth the trouble and I'll just leave the stock power drum system as is. Thanks for the info.
I just put a set of single piston (1969 style) disc brakes on my Firebird with JC rims. I had to grind off a small amount of metal on the caliper bracket to make them clear but there are no rubs (no structural impact). Both the 67s and 68s had 4 piston but I opted for single piston because of cost and the overall better design.

This is what I recall from many posts on this topic in the past as well.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.
