Any you guys find a good fix for this? Front disk pads are loose in the 1 piton calipers (off 69 car) and cause clicking sound when driving at slow speeds. I bent the tabs on the pads and added more brake grease, quiet it down for a while, now its starting up again. Annoying.
I took a closer at the front brakes and found out it's the outer pad that rattles around. The anti rattle clips only secure the inner pad to the piston. So other than bending the tabs on the outer pad to "lock" it in place, I don't know what else there is to do. Do they make a clip for the outer pad to keep it from being loose? The clicking sound goes away once I lightly apply the brakes. All the hardware is 2 years new.
I ended up talking the Wagner Brake and they were very familiar with this problem, especially on our cars. Their recommendation was to bend the tabs (ears) on the pads more to were they are real tightly pressed onto the calipers. I tried that last night with 12" cannel locks and no I can longer make them move or hear the click by manually rotating the axle. So...nother one down.
