I bought my '67 as a rolling chassis. Little did I know how 'rolling' it was. When taking it apart I discovered the previous owner had wrecked the car (most likely while drag racing). The factory traction bar on the passenger side had the front eyelet almost ground through and the shock mount on the same side was ground off completely. Just guessing, I'd say they lost a wheel (or the entire axle). When I took apart the rear differential it was completely empty. I went out and bought a 10-bolt 8.5" rear end from a 78 or 79 TA. The distance from the end of the axles is the same between the 2 units. I have already cut off the multi-leaf mounts (too far apart) and am in the process of cleaning it up to put in the car.
My question is this: I will be swapping to multi-leaf springs. Do I use 4 or 5 leaf springs? Anyone have recommendations? Will I encounter and issues mounting the springs on the car? Should I just buy springs meant for a '68?
As always, thanks in advance.

I did the same swap on my '69. a friend did the work of moving the perches from one to the other. He made a jig to get the dimensions exact. I used reproduction 5 leaf springs and the ride height came out just right. I believe the width is slightly more with the second gen unit and if you use the disc brakes that also adds another half inch or more. Overall I'm happy with the end results.

I've been looking at rear leaf springs online and they all say they come with the front bushing. Does the rear not have a bushing or do I just have to source that separately?
My rear ones i got from tamraz were missing as well, not sure if they all come like that or not. I needed new shackles so i bought a kit which included those bushings
