There was a piece of steel still bolted to it when I took it apart but if there as ever any rubber on it it was long gone. I thought I remembered that 7s had the bumper on the frame and 8-9s had them on the LCAs. Anyone know for sure?
Do you have a pic of it or a link/PN? I still don't know what it looks like. My LCAs have the holes for the limit bumpers so I was thinking that maybe somebody replaced them with 8-9 pieces. Sounds like this bracket doesn't have anything to do with limiting travel of the control arms though.
I don't think so. It had a flat piece of steel on the bottom with a bolt going up thru the bracket but it looked like it might have had something( I thought maybe rubber) attached to it facing down at one time.
You da man J! Now I have to go make sure I didn't toss the old one so I can make a new one for the other side. They don't seem to be available aftermarket. At least I haven't found new ones yet. Thanks.
Somebody over on PY posted an article from a chebby mag showing a rubber bumper being mounted on this bracket facing down toward the LCA. There were no mounting holes in the LCA on the maro.
So I'm gonna say bumper facing down on maro. Bumper facing up on bird. Hands down facing up...much cooler. :-)
Hey what's up with #14 in the diagram? Two different kinds of UCA bumpers. Never seen one like the square-ish one. Maybe later years?
