Ames offers kick panel speaker grills that are claimed to be reproduction's of an original optional part: FA198
"ALTHOUGH A SELDOM SEEN OPTION, THESE REPRODUCTIONS OF THE ORIGINALS ARE AN EXCELLENT ADD ON FOR THOSE WHO WANT A FOUR SPEAKER STEREO SYSTEM."
Does anybody have a picture of a factory installation of this option? If I purchase these, I want to make sure they are placed properly. I have a non-AC '68.
I'm not sure if you have seen this and I know its for a/c but I am pretty sure they are the same . Scroll down to "factory kick panel speakers" maybe someone can confirm. https://firstgenfirebird.org/f-a-q/category/radio-and-components/ And I know the measurements and the exact way the holes are made is factory because they match my originals perfectly.

This is exactly what I needed. Thanks!
Are your original grills black or the silver color like the Ames parts?
They don't as far as I know. He was just worried about the placement probably because of the a/c actuator in the passenger kick panel vs. just the vent in non a/c cars.
Mine were missing and had aftermarket grills. I recently read a very good thread about color and the grills themselves I think on this site but have c.r.s. do some digging and you will find it.
From further research I realize they were black because the car interior was black. From the assembly manual info I have read they were painted to match the interior/kick panel color.
