My Firebird was restored and set up with coil springs when it did not have a factory air conditioner. However, a classic car dealer added the factory air back and now the right side wheel rubs on the fender. In my research I discovered that the air conditioning adds 113 pounds and perhaps I need heavier duty coil springs. However, if I add the heavier springs won’t the driver side also raise? Currently the passenger side stance is 1 1/8 inch lower than the driver side.
I question the 113lbs, you only have the compressor, condenser and evaporator with box and some brackets. I would guess maybe 70ish pounds. The coils springs for A/C cars were a little stiffer and 70lbs do not make your car sag. If you're worried about even stance then look into the coil spacers you can buy. I red the factory used them on F body cars to even them out...looky here: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/...gg_0UovEPS_VNfRJNuHP3DcpIc4aArCDEALw_wcB
