I have searched this site with as many combinations of "back up", "reverse", "switch", "harness", "wiring", and "routing" as I can think of and I still cannot find how the damned 68 Firebird muncie reverse light switch wires are routed into the interior and attach to the dash harness. I'm guessing the relevant information is too old to come up in the first 200 results. I'm surprised it's not in the Hall of Fame. I've tried looking in the service manual, diagnostic manual, body manual, etc. and I'm at a stopping point.
Anyway, could any of you fine individuals help me out? I could use pictures too if you got them. I have a pink and light green connector on my harness that seems right according to the wiring diagram, but it cannot connect with the black and blue harness I just got that is supposed to connect to the switch.

Okay, I think I found the answer due to some helpful individuals on Facebook. Also think I solved a question I had about neutral safety wires for a manual transmission.
Y'all have a happy 4th of July weekend, I'm gonna go work on my car.

I've been told, that the backup switch extension harness (FM12695) plugs into the dash harness and comes out of the firewall to the outside of the brake master cylinder. It then runs across to the passenger side through the wiring gutter and drops down to the backup switch harness (FM12690) on the side cover of the transmission.
