Passed off as rare 400 4 speed 'bird. VIN is posted, so those in the know can immediately tell it's a 6 cylinder car. Car has a rebuilt engine but the "original" 400 engine comes with it.
His reply to a published question regarding the engine is quite misleading. I followed up with a question that remains unpublished, and got a reply that confirms my belief that the seller is intentionally misrepresenting the car.
One in an endless line of eBay shysters...as always, buyer beware.

He added this to the description tonight: "On Sep-25-06 at 17:22:48 PDT, seller added the following information: We are HIGHLY aware that the VIN number states that this is a V6 automatic. When this car came from the factory it is a V8, it never was an automatic...it is a standard. It came with Factory 4 speed transmisson and Factory 373 rear and a 400 4 speed hood. I hope this explains more in detal. Thanks for looking" Since he is so "HIGHLY" sure this car came from the factory the way he states it,sounds like he is hinting it was vin swap Anyone aware of a gaffe like this happening? I've heard other kind of mishaps but....

Yeah ... my Trans Am Convertible has one of those pesky "6"'s in the VIN right after th "U." Mine, however, came from the factory with the factory-installed dual-quad 302 and a Tremec 6-speed.
