I picked up a nice 1968 Firebird 400. I'm looking forward to learning more about my car.

Welcome.

I would start with getting the full set of original factory documentation on your car to see how it left the factory:

Nice pick up, great looking car.

Do you mind sharing any details about that car and ballpark of what you paid?

Thanks for the replies. I'm in Nor Cal, SF Bay Area.
I ordered my PHS docs last week. The documentation on this car is pretty cool.
Dealer invoice, window sticker, protecto plate and owners manual. I have two broadcast sheets, one in great shape the other in pieces, both found under the seats. (Did Pontiac put them on top of the gas tanks?) The color is April Gold.

The body and engine bay look great. Both have been recently painted. The trunk needs to be painted. The original paint looks black with grey or light blue fleck. I've read where the color should be dark blue with grey flecks. Would that information be on the build sheet?

The trunk paint is available through the Pontiac parts catalog guys. Actually, I think it is the same for all the GM vehicles.

Was that car on your local craigslist a couple of months ago? We had a link posted back then. I'm thinking it was listed in the low 20's or something like that?

Yes it was listed in the Bay Area. It did not last long. I bought it after a buyer backed out. I know the seller, he bought the car from the original owners.

Yes, I said at the time I would have bought it if I didn't already have four of them! Nice car! You did well.

And welcome to the site.
