Is there a torque spec for the straps or just get them snug. Im afraid im gonna overtighten and damage tank. Its a new spectra tank with ss straps. Straps havent completely formed to tank as there are some gaps here and there. Right now i just the nuts good and snug

Send us a pic. Maybe need to heat it up some. I would not over tighten. Fill it full with gas with straps not fully tightened and then fill with gas and then final torque
I used stainless straps when I installed the new tank in my ‘68. They took a good bit of tightening to conform to the tank. Seems like I tightened them a couple times after driving with a full tank. A little anti-seeze really helps on the bolt threads!
