Major bummer in our household. My wife considered her roles in stuff like the "Burning Bed" and other Lifetime chick flicks to be outstanding.

My sister-in-law (a flight attendant) spent most of a quiet cross-country red-eye flight talking with her a few years ago. Said she was genuinely a very warm-hearted person.

Her famous red swimsuit poster was my sole pin-up in my college dorm room.

RIP, your suffering is over.

That's the one! I just read about how that famous shot was made in the front seat of a 1937 Chevy Pickup.

Must have been a bit chilly grin

I think that poster is the reason I need glasses today.

Correction straight from the photographer: The shot was at her house off Mulholland Drive. The background is a Mexican blanket that covered the seat of the photographers beat-up 1937 Chevy PU.

It makes sense why this poster was special to me. I was a 16-year-old teenager in L.A. when it came out in '76 and that of course is when I got my license and into cars.

Dont remember their names, but this must have been around 1962? or so...

She was an icon, the Marilyn Monroe of my generation.

It's a truly sad day.

I`ll miss her alot more than I`ll miss Wacko, sorry , I mean Jacko.
Posted By: salmon38 Re: Farrah Fawcett has Passed - 06/26/09 03:57 PM
Me too. The thing about last night was I was all set to see the tributes to her on TV.

And then Wacko Jacko stole the stage and trashed everything.

I wonder if I still have my poster stashed someplace...

She always seemed like a beautiful American in both appearance and as a person. What a contrast to the freakshow that died later in the day. Sadly, the freakshow gets most of the media attention.

freakshows always do

I think all the publicity to Jacko is so that the media can get the interveiws with the family. After they get all they can the coverage will turn to the horrible allegations he did to children (which I believe is true), may he burn in hell!

It was sad to hear she lost the battle with her cancer. I just bought and watched the DVD of the Cannonball Run last week. A lot of stars in that are no longer with us.
Farrah Fawcett
Dom DeLuise
Dean Martin
Sammy Davis Jr.
Jack Elam

Farrah showed up in heaven. God told her she had one wish. She wished for the world's children to be safe.

God killed Michael Jackson.

The autopsy for Jacko revealed that the cause of death was food poisoning.... And the culprit was (drum roll please) he had ingested twelve year old nuts
