Well, it appears that they are merging retail operations which will be run by Ames and both companies parts operations will be run by PY.(Think all the Pypes stuff besides just Pontiac specific items). Makes all the sense in the world to me, the "hobby" is doing okay, but the Pontiac market isn't growing...

Unfortunately, PY's forums appear to have crashed or are no longer available in their old format. At least, I can't access them at the moment.

I've heard that PY was making so much on the pypes stuff and so little on the parts that they were going to phase out the parts operation.

Looks like the new link is up and (very slowly) running. Passwords and screen names remained the same. Just the web link changed:

Yes, I hope PYPES won't do the same thing to my car.

For a tech view ... this is what it looks like...

The PY forum on a different server than the new MaxP forum

Old site: forums.performanceyears.com 205.178.189.131

New site: maxperformanceinc.com 69.168.79.136

Owner of both sites: Chris Casperson

Anybody's guess if the new server is a big box or his xt at home. i.e. Will the site slow down?

He should probably get a bigger hamster wheel.

That's too bad. I used PY's site for a lot of motor information. Good or bad, it was better than nothing.

Ames offered CCass a nice chunk of coin. I've received 3 emails from him o er last 2 days. Rather long winded...evasive and devoid of explanation. Its a free market agreed...just don't send me [censored] making up bullshit to justify why you sold out.

Sincerely,

A [censored] who sees through bullshit.
