How can I get the gap tighter on my quarter window weather stripping on my '67 firebird convertible. The weather stripping on the quarter window is new. Does the window need to be adjusted/door adjusted? It is fairly tight at the top, but there is a gap at the bottom.
Hard to say which gap you are referring to, the one between the two windows or at the top, however the adjustment is under the sail panel, with the studs that hang the guide and so on. you have to l,oosen the locknuts, and play with the slotted stud in and out till you get the gap closed...also there is up and down movement in the regulator mounting.

It is the gap between the 2 windows with the weather stripping that attaches to the quarter window. The gap is more narrow at the top, and a little open at the bottom.
I haven't got my good thinking cap on after a 3 hour cruise and some major sun on the face, but sounds like a minor track adjustment...they are finicky but how I did mine is loosen up the track bolts, and grab the 1/4 window and move it roughly where you want it, the n snug them up again....and go from there...been awhile, but i went thru the same thing.

I just finished installing all new glass & weather stripping in our car. There are three studs with lock nuts, two up top and one on the bottom. The end of the stud has a slot for a flat head screw driver. Turning in/out will adjust the angle of the window. Moving the window for or aft in the slots will adjust for the gaps. Because I did al the glass, I had to adjust the front door window as well. Working both at the same time to get the correct gap.
