All,

I have a '68 AC car that no longer has AC and I do not plan to put AC back in the car since I'm moving to Iceland in a few months.
I'm rebuilding my car but I'm a bit confused. Non AC cars seem to have just a heater duct but still have left/right vent balls but I've only seen ducts running to both vent balls on AC cars.

Am I missing something or are the vent balls on non AC cars just for show?

Thx.

68 had vent balls for the non AC cars. 67 had vent windows so only the AC cars had the balls.

Thx for the info.

But what air flows to the vent balls and how? Does anyone have any pix of the ducting going to the vent balls for non AC cars?

The vent balls without A/C have a duct that goes up to an inlet in the cowl area. Not sure if the opening is there with A/C cars or not. Might have a block off plate or cover of some sort.

Thx Jeff.

I did find something saying the AC duct hoses to the vent balls were used for '67 AC cars and '68 AC and non AC cars.

The precut left and right are $116 or I can get a 72" hose and cut it myself for about $18...easy decision.
