Does anyone have any insight on the best place to get a rebuild kit or any other advice?
I did find a video on the general things to do for a rebuild, but that was about it. the main thing I took away was that you need two guys to get the spring and washer back in correctly.
You use to be able to send it to Hurst to have it rebuilt, is that still an option?
I found this on their site.
SHIFTER REBUILD PROGRAM

Thanks Harold,
I will keep this handy- but think I might tackle this my self if I can justify the cost of the parts vs. sending it in.
Did you have to do yours?
I found a rebuild kit from Hurst on ebay for 105.00

Are you sure it needs to be rebuilt? I was able to take mine apart, clean, relube and reassemble. And it didn't cost me anything but time. Shifts fine and haven't had any issues with it since. I would've liked to replaced one or two of the slide plates, as they looked abit thin but I will do it next time if there is one.
Proper alignment is 98% of the issue unless you know something specific is worn or wrong.
You guys may be right, it is still in the works. The guy I am buying from says he thinks it needs rebuilt- but I have yet to actually check it out in person.
I will definitely give it a once over before ordering anything. Hopefully it just needs some TLC.
I sent mine to Hurst for rebuild several years back, they are part of Mr. Gasket now, shifter was perfect, very tight!

Can I ask what it ran ya...?
This guy in Columbus, OH, is supposedly good if you want to pay somebody. I've never use him.

Thanks Guys, I will keep those on file. 100.00 isn't that bad.
Looks like Pete charges $250
