I bought my 68 with Cragars already on it, but a full set of steel wheels and the original hubcaps came with the deal. The hubcaps are the wire type and are original to the car, and the seller thought the wheels were too, but wasn't sure. The wheels are coded XT, from my research it looks like they're 69 firebird wheels. My car was built in April of 68,could these be the original wheels?

I know the HG code is the '68 drum brake steel wheel. HK may have been the disc but I'm not sure.

If you have the Body Broadcast sheet, (sometimes found in up in the springs under the rear seat bottom) it has the as-built code.

Also, the wheels you are questioning should have a manufacturing date. See: http://www.wallaceracing.com/rally-wheel-date-code.htm
