So I have a 69-400 4sp with #62 heads approx 10.5:1
2.11-1.44

It seems to run ok on pump 93 however I can get 104 for 8 bucks a gal
just wondering if I should run a mix or not ?

I also run high compression heads, and have found that the more advance, the stronger it runs. Higher octane allows more advance without spark knock. However octane alone does not make HP. It’s a balancing act.

I swear by Lucas Octane Booster, the only real octane booster left, 104 and others got bought out and are garbage now, yeah and with new fuel more advance seems to be key, although vaporization is an issue. I found just a few gallons, maybe 2 of race fuel in the tank is all thats needed when available, but generally I fill up with @90octane, 1/2 bottle of Lucas, few ounces of Marvel Mystery Oil or lead substitute.
