Can I ask you, John, what it takes to make this right right for you? Seems like you have a deep-seeded need for balance.
Seriously, Johnny, Vikki has helped me and a ton of other people here with no thought of compensation, I for one would be happy to help you if I can as payment to her. Paying it forward as it were.

lol.. I'm not deep seeded, just not forgotten... it's only $100, a lot less than most dinner bills and Vikki/Yellowbird still makes a few G's on the deal...
so go ahead lovers... I'll accept payment from anyone.. it sure rubber stamps you guys as decent but doesn't change her fault in all this

I agree with TOHCan 100%. Let me help make this right for you. Pay It Forward - as it were - is right on.

I'm sorry to all those who have responding on this thread if any of you feel I started this ... banter.
I did not mean anything to offend anyone.
I just stated my view as a long time businessman. The great thing about this forum is the fact that people can state their opinions to a potentially large audience around the world. We each have a right to our opinions. Let's try to keep a positive perspective on things and move forward. Everyone has plenty of stress in their own lives.
That said ... onto some lighter fair...
Anyone see Hills this week?
I know I'm sick middle aged creep but the dam show is interesting to me anyway. Maybe the Parkinson's has fried the portion of brain that determines good taste!
Ok, everyone repeat after me:
I, {your name}, apologize for anything I might have said tonight to offend anyone and I will do my best to be more positive in the future...and I will try to watch Hill's next week and let Brian know whether he is an old creep or not.

Wow, this went way overboard! I went away for the weekend and find this "fight" when I get home!
unusual for this forum. Disagreements can happen, and can be talked about by adults, so I'm sure everything will be okay. No worries!
Back to the subject: yes, i indeed bought my Bird unseen. Bought it off Epay with a few pictures seen, and made two phonecalls to the seller, who was a bit vague. "Yes, all is well, car runs... No problems." I was very sceptical about the state of the car when I bought it and expected the worst. Just wanted to buy it anyway. He did say he put extra parts including wheels and all in the car, which weren't there when it arrived in the port of Rotterdam, so not sure wether they were stolen by the port-workers, or just never put in the car. It turnt out really well for me though. Car was a 2 owner #-matching car that sat in the garage for about 20 years when I got it. Did get it to run though, and haven;t done anything yet to the drivetrain, yet drove it on a holiday to france for a week (1000k miles +).
I got lucky though, would still be carefull next time!
so where is the money? the thread was about shady dealings, I posted my bad dealings, then 2 people without any dog in the fight start talking crap and wanna be big shots and say they will pay it, then nothing... how pathetic..
I will go as many rounds as anyone likes.. I got ripped off, period, and I frankly don't care if you like my reaction to getting ripped off or not.
Vikki/Yellowbird sucks, maybe you like her, but I do not...
here is the button, put your money where your mouth is
Yes, what you posted was ample proof that you are not one to deal with without having everything in writing first. You didn't get ripped off, you have a grudge against a "friend" merely because you didn't get a piece of the action, and you have no compunction about blaming someone else for your issues.
Again, thanks for clarifying your stance on helping others and what the end cost will be.
I have "looked at" no less than 7 cars for both FGF asnd PY-type "friends." I do so because I like to help out. In about half the cases I have advised the potential new owner to walk away. In most of the other half I have advised that the price is fair for what they are looking for and looking at.
I have never expected, and never been compensated for, my time and "expertise." (A profession a$$.hole is quite expensive.) What I have been able to do, however, is to save a few poeple I don't know untold time and money investing is a car that I belive is beyond reasonable expecatation.
Unlerss you have an understanding or contract established ahead of time, expect nothing and be happy if that is what you get.
not only that , you also helped my daughter when she was in car need in LA, also helped her/me to sell her car when she left it at your place for several months....
also Thomas R. in SA went and looked over a TR6 for me a couple of years ago, a car I did not buy based on his info.
I also went and looked over a Caddy here in south Houston for a guy on PY...only took about 2-3 hrs....also helped a guy in Norway buy an Eldorado that was local to me, took it and had new tires put on it, delivered it to the port for shipping....
not to talk about several EBay items I have had shipped to me ,then re sent to Europe for several people there...
Just to put it out there for everyone here, if you ever need a car anywhere in FL looked at, do not hesitate. I know the entire state very well and I am in central FL so I can get to Pensacola to Miami within a days drive in either direction. Now no blind guy jokes here ok. I can hear them now "send a blind guy to look at a car" etc. LOL I can do this because my wife is not here. Otherwise she would get upset, hit me and then cry...
to freeze a thread is easy...deleting is is work...you got to go backwards deleting one at a time...you cannot delete a thread w replies... we`ll see how it goes forward... but we can "bury" it easily
Good bad or ugly, it hasn't really gotten abusive, in my opinon anyway, and all parties involved should have ample time to retort if they would like to.
I had a friend from high school that got all twisted out of shape over what he thought was a scam for the same amount of money. He wanted a muscle car; I found him a '70 GTO with a very good body that needed mechanical work and paint but was all there. In the deal I convinced the guy to throw in a fender and door for my Firebird, grand total for the GTO and the other parts was $175, up from the asking price of $150 for just the car (ah, the good old days). I put in $75 for my stuff, leaving $100 for the GTO, which my friend paid gladly.
That was fine for about a week, but then he started wondering if I somehow got my parts cheaper than I otherwise would have by making that part of the deal. Then he got the idea that I had tricked him into wanting a muscle car so I could buy the fender and door and insisted that I buy back the GTO, which I did on the spot. Then THAT made him think that I now had maneuvered him into selling me the GTO and that he was getting shafted again! I told him to make up his mind and tell me what he wanted to do. He bailed, I kept the GTO for a while then took off the disc brakes, kept the #16 heads that were in the back seat along with the dual-point Mallory distributor and a few other pieces and sold the rest to clean up the yard.
Well I have to say... This thread has been interesting to say the least. I understand feeling screwed or tooken advantage of all to well. My bird deal wasn't the first time and probably not the last. I like helping people but screw me once and everyone will know about you. I do feel if someone screwed you on a deal it isn't the first time they did that. Johnny's deal could be tooken 2 different ways. He could let it go and never help vicki again which would be the way I'd go with that situation. But his approach is his to decide. Business and pleasure does not mix.

You just can't please some people.

I for one am totally against locking, deleting or editing posts and or threads. If peolpe are looking for filtered forum groups simply go here: http://forums.performanceyears.com/forums/
Good luck! Say something somone doesn't like, it will get deleted or worse yet, edited! What a friggen joke it is over there. Guy posts a thread asking for opinions on his ghetto rims and tires. I simply point out that they look like ghetto rims and then all of a sudden the thread title gets edited to read: technical data on rims & tires. LOL
How do we know Bjorn isn't editing our posts? I could have sworn my last post was "What do you guys think about muncie transmissions?" when I typed it.

I hope this site NEVER gets to that point!
Bjorn, can you change the thread title to read: Sex, lies and video tape?
