I test fitted my new floor pan and it's not quite fitting right. It needs to go back about 3/4" in order for it to touch the welding tabs on the front of the rear sub-frame. In order for that to happen I would need to cut most of the back lip off of the new floor pan. Has anyone encountered this and/or does anyone have any reference measurements. I would have to believe that the only critical thing is the location of the two front sub-frame mounting holes in the floor pan. And yes I did take measurements and photos but cannot for the life of me find them.
I wouldn't cut anything. Be sure your floor is pulled down and tight. I created a wedging device to pull the floor down snug to the frame rails. When I was flat and tight, my floor fit almost perfectly.
I would recommend screwing it into the frame rails when you know it's in the right spot and where you will plug weld later. pulling it in with the screws or clecko's will shorten the floor overall . Again, mine when perfectly positioned flat along the entire frame rail both sides was pretty darn perfect of a fit at the seam of the trunk area and the tab of the frame rail.
Thanks for the info. I have the body supported with floor jacks at the very rear of the rear sub-frame (near the back bumper) and I was wondering if that might be causing the sub-frame to turn down at the front. I will try putting floor jacks under the front of the rear sub-frame and see if that changes anything. Thanks again.
