I have a '67 firebird project with 2 bodies. My question is which one to build. They are relatively the same as far as rust and damage. The choice comes down to which is the better investment. One is a Verdoro green 400, 4 speed with hood tach. The other is a 326, 2 speed auto, but it is Mayfair Maze with a Blue interior. That seems like a really odd color combination. Which would you build?
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. I feel like I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe. 1968 400 convertible (Scarlet) 1976 T/A - 455 LE (No Burt) 1976 T/A New baby, starting full restoration. 1968 350 - 4 speed 'vert - 400 clone (the Beast!) 1968 350 convertible - Wife's car now- 400 clone (Aleutian Blue) (Blue Angel) 2008 Durango - DD 2008 GXP - New one from NH is AWESOME! 2017 Durango Citadel - Modern is nice! HEMI is amazing! 1998 Silverado Z71 - Father-daughter project 1968 400 coupe - R/A clone (Blue Pearl) (sold) 1967 326 convertible - Sold 1980 T/A SE Bandit - Sold

No disrespect to the Mayfair Maize owners out there, but it is a difficult color to sell. I have a Bamboo Cream Buick that is similar in color(a little more yellow) and it has the same issue, no one is looking for one in that color.(Okay maybe not no one, but it is a very small market.)
1968 400 Coupe, verdoro green, black vinyl top 1968 400 Convertible, verdoro green, black top 1971 Trans Am, cameo white, auto 1970 Buick Skylark Custom Convertible 350-4(driver)
Ok. So the 400 sounds like the overwhelming choice. Next question. If I painted it Tyrol Blue instead of Verdoro Green, would that really hurt the value?
If it was matching numbers and you were keeping it all stock, switching colors will hurt the value. However, it it doesn't fall into that category, it won't matter all that much.
