Hey guys, trying to troubleshoot a clicking noise coming front my front end, the brakes to be exact. The car, a 400, 400 auto, original disk brakes on front. I hear the clicking noise only at slow speeds, and, get this..it goes away when I lightly push the brake pedal! Background: New bearings, new brake pads, new brake hardware. Where could that noise be coming from? Brake pads too loose? calipers? click, clack, click, click, clack...
Can you create it by jacking the car up and manually spinning the front wheels? You don't have a loose pad that's floating do you?

I know you mentioned the brakes but I had a similar noise and it turned out to be the center cap being loose on one of the Ralley IIs. Can't explain why it would go away when you touch the brakes but easy enough to check.
Well, I think I found the culprit! The pads (at least the one in front) is loose. I red about it and the recommendation is to add more brake grease and slightly bend the "ears" or " tabs" to keep them from clicking when driving. Will give that a shot this WE.
Sounded familiar.. think I had that on a car at one point. Glad you found it.
