In a 1968 Car and Driver comparison test, a Firebird 400 HO bested a 390-cid Javelin, a 390 Mustang and 390 Cougar, a Camaro SS 396, and a 340 Barracuda. Not only was the Poncho quickest of the bunch, but its engine was the smoothest and its handling the friendliest.
"For sheer enjoyment and confidence behind the wheel," said Car and Driver, "the Firebird was almost in a class by itself."
"An ignorant man thinks he knows everything, a wise man knows he doesn't."
I think Jeremy posted this article a couple of months ago.

Pretty much all I have are from 1967 except maybe 2 1968 magazines, couldn't pass up the 1968 Pontiac OHV V8 magazine! I still have about 5 more to post, but a lot of the ones I've posted compare all the muscle cars at that time. The Consumer Reports one is a good one to look at. I don't mind if you cut, paste, copy, etc.... I bought them to share the knowledge.
I know I read one of your posts that had this article. (or one extremely similar)
I am not sure if it was '67 or '68 though. Do you have a link to the thread you posted?

I checked History and March 1968 Car & Driver is listed but the article has not been located. I am more interested in the 1968 Firebird because of suspension upgrades etc and I want to compare reviews with the 1968 Camaro. I guess I can also look at Camaro sites for reviews. I thought this article would be interesting though.
yes, please post. I'd be interested in reading it.
thanks!

I have the article Car and Driver March 1968 article on 6 Sporty Cars put on photobucket for better viewing, to save pics, and to print saved pics. I did put a sticker on the Cover pic to cover up the previous magazine owner's address. If you have any problems veiwing the site or have any suggestions or input on the article, I would like to hear it. I hope you enjoy it!
