Hey, I'm trying to replace my rear quarter window chrome and I read in previous posts, I'm going to have to cut the old adhesive then use some elbow grease to get the chrome/weatherstripping off. Is this the easiest way to remove them? Also, I'm wondering do I need any sealant/adhesive to install the new chrome? Thanks.
Try heating it in hot water, should help loosen it up. The chrome piece is held on by comression with a u channel piece of rubber. I dont beleive there is any adhesive involved. Mine came off fairly easy once one end was lifted up and used a skinny screwdriver to pry it along.
Maybe I'll give myself more to do and take them out. We'll see how the weather is here in Portugal on Saturday since I don't have a garage. I just have to find the thread that explains how to take them out.
Thanks for the info. I havent had time to remove them but when I do, I'll know what to do. Do I need to remove the back seat to take out these windows? Or maybe I'll soak 'em down before I take them out and see if they'll cooperate and come out. Thanks.
