I am after the simplest instructions please to install my new speedo/fuel gauges please. Not sure if I have to remove dash pad or not, (plus other steps). Thanks

simplest. put that out of your mind. dash pad shouldn't need to come out but from my experience, i had to lower the steering column or remove the steering wheel. reach behind and blindly find all the nuts hold the instrument panel in, then do the same with the headlight switch knob release button. have fun. hopefully someone tells you an easier way
He forgot to mention that you have to disconnect the speedo cable and main wiring plug from the back of the instrument cluster.
There are no nuts on the back holding the instrument cluster in for '67 and '68 - just the screws on the front of the gauge carrier (plastic panel)

1. Remove 2 plastic covers over steering column 2. Remove 3 nuts to allow steering column to come down 1-2" 3. Remove screws at the top of cluster (3) 4. Remove bottom screws (4) 5. You need to disconnect the speedo Get your hand in at the back and loosen nut on cable at cluster 6. Remove wiring plug 7. There maybe a single wire to cluster (black twist plug) remove it 8. Remove light (plug) for hi beam indicator at the top of cluster
Pull the cluster out carefully as you hold the column down for clearance.
Watch you DO NOT catch bottom plastic flanges as they are easy to break.
Good luck
Reverse to install.
